

About MaryamBayam: A local fashion label with primary focus using batik textiles sourced from Terengganu, Malaysia. MaryamBayam aims to preserve the Malaysian Batik culture by creating timeless batik pieces with a modern twist.
As part of the MaryamBayam rebrand, I focused on streamlining the business by cutting underperforming items and shifting the primary sales channel from Instagram DMs to a fully operational website. This strategy significantly improved customer experience and purchasing efficiency, ultimately elevating the brand’s visibility and reach. The rebranding efforts led to exciting opportunities, including becoming one of the pioneer merchants for Malaysia Airlines’ new e-commerce platform, Journify.
In addition to managing and overseeing all of MaryamBayam’s operations—including company strategy, driving profitability, and communications—we partnered with Northern Illinois University, USA, to curate a unique collection of Malaysian Batik for their Pick Museum of Anthropology.
